Key Responsibilities

Your daily work will involve preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect or the client. You will perform regular cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work and assist in establishing a client's requirements by undertaking feasibility studies. Throughout the construction phase, you will perform site visits to monitor progress and verify work completed to authorize subcontractor payments. You will also be responsible for managing the "final accounts" process, negotiating any price variations with contractors, and providing detailed reports on project profitability and financial risk to the senior management team.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field is required. We prefer candidates who are members of a professional body, such as the RICS or a similar accredited organization. You must have at least three to five years of experience in cost management or commercial construction. Exceptional numeracy skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and specialized estimating software are essential for success. You should also possess strong negotiation skills and a firm understanding of construction contracts and local procurement laws to manage vendor relationships and project expenditures effectively.
